I just changed out all 8 coil packs with ebay coilpacks (8 for $137). And all 8 spark plugs (Motorcraft). 2 of the rear bank spark plugs had oil on them. What causes that? Also as I was tightening the bolt to one of the coil packs... I got a little over zealous and it cracked the coil pack where the bolt goes thru. The other bolt tightened up fine. Will this be OK? Also NONE of the rear bank connectors "locked" into place when I connected the wiring harness to each coil pack. Have I just entered a NIGHTMARE?
btw... it still runs a bit rough!

Where on the plug was the oil found? Might be valve cover gasket might be something else. I have the same issue after changing the vcg's.

I didn't see any in the plug well. It was on the threads and just above (below) the threads on the plugs.

I have the same problem and it might be valve seals or piston rings. Most likely seals.

will that just shorten the life of the plug? (I took a look at the plugs... they were oily from the threads to the nut). I DO have lots of oil leaking from the engine... fortunately not much of it makes it the garage floor. What does drip is coming from the oil filter. I have had the parts to fix the oil cooler o ring for over a year... ha!

I wish that had something to do with oil on top but no that won't help the plug issue. I have the same leak at the cooler too!

It will become a problem if you notice the plug won't fire properly. I make it a habit of changing known oily plug(s) once or twice a year to keep an eye on things. I used to have 1 and I noticed last month I now have 2. and they are on different heads.
