I just ran my engine codes after the SHO refused to start. It will turn over, just not start. I have 211 (Profile Ignition Pickup circuit failure) and 542 (Fuel pump secondary circuit failure). What's my next step in correcting these problems. How do I trace the problem? If it's just a couple of falty circuits, I shouldn't have to replace the ignition control module or even the fuel pump, right?

Sounds like your Crank Position Sensor (CPS) has failed and needs to be replaced. That sensor is responsible for generating and passing along the PIP signal to the DIS Module and PCM.

You can test the CPS (and DIS system circuitry as a whole) by following rangerj's excellent instructions that I recently reiterated in this post:

If you have to replace the CPS, you should do full "front 60K" service on your SHO. Very helpful and detailed instructions on how to do that can be found here:

The 542 codes is often a result of a stall condition, and not necessarily a fuel pump circuit issue. Focus on the 211 code first and foremost.

P.S. Try grounding the EEC test pin for the fuel pump to make sure the pump runs, you should be able to hear it:

Good luck.
