What to look for to fix this code p0430, car runs fine, no loss of power or performance it seems to run better, gas mileage is good . I can clear the code and CE light stays off for about 200 plus miles then comes back on . Changed down stream o2 sensor with no fix, is it time for catalytic replacement, any ideas. 2010 w/109000 miles.

Since the code is only complaining about the effectiveness of the cat, the engine should run normally and have no loss of power.

If there is an oxy sensor problem in this scenario, it is far more likely to be the front sensor not switching at the proper point.

Are there any other codes being set? If not, I would replace the front oxy sensor on that bank.

That is the downstream sensor (after the cat) on bank 2 (Front bank) just to confirm. The gen 4 Taurus sho use wideband sensor upstream so have doubts that would be the issue. Unless you get code for it of course.

Did you change 1 sensor or both? Stock cats?
