I'm trying to put my 89 back together with a 13" Cobra brake upgrade but I think I might have a problem...

The caliper bracket looks like it might rub on the rotor, has anyone else had this problem when doing this upgrade? I wonder if once I apply pressure to the brakes the caliper will center itself on the rotor and take care of it. Here are some pics: Sorry about my sh!tty camera :p

The top part of the caliper bracket BARELY clears the rotor

The bottom part of the bracket pretty much rubs on the rotor

Thanks in advance!

Did you replace your knuckles with 94/95 knuckles? Did you grind anything from the cobra brackets or the knuckles (you shouldn't have had to if you used the 94/95 knuckle?) I'm not sure why its touching like that, but if you might be able to shim it to get it to work. Before you do that though, you should figure out why its doing that. Try cleaning any crap/rust off of the hub area, the rotor might be sitting on something. Are all of the lug holes deburred on the side that mounts to the hub? Some clearer pictures would help along with some pics of the hub/knuckle without the rotor there.

If the bracket is bolted to the knuckle, applying pressure to the brakes will not help with centering the bracket, only the caliper it self may move. That doesnt help with the bracket to rotor contact.

I thought the gas slots were supposed to fling the gases outward? Yours will pull the gas in towards the center of the rotor.

I put the wheels on the car and torqued them up... Fixed everything! :thumb: THANK GOD!:hail: The rotor was just sitting at an angle on the hub it just needed to be torqued. I dont like the way my stock brake hoses *almost* stretch when I turn my wheel all the way. I guess I'll be buying some stainless steel lines pretty soon huh...
