so i had my 89 out to day and got on it...no it is really hard to shift in to gear with the car running....i literally have to force it into gear....could this be because my clutch is not disengaging all the way or maybe low on fluid? someone help me please...also i do not know how to adjust my clutch...pointers?

These clutches are not hydraulic; thus, do not use fluid. To adjust the clutch, pull up on the pedal with your foot; then press down. If it clicks, it adjusted itself. Mine won't even pull up for some reason.

Others more knowledgeable will chime in, but I can tell you it's not clutch fluid, and it's probably not in need of a clutch adjustment. Mine can be hard to go in gear in the cold weather sometimes. I know you can siphon out the MTX fluid and reinstall new tranny fluid to have smoother shifts, but yours may be more serious.

Do you have to force it into all gears or just certain ones?

Mine is a little tough at first but after it warms up it's fine. Some say different ATF will help this I have not tried it yet but will when spring hits and I dig mine out of the garage.

The fill plug is on the front of the transmission (facing the front of the car)
its a 3/8's ratchet plug. use a 3 inch ext and be careful.
Once you change the fluid (by using regular ATF) you should notice improved shifts.
