when you install the cable and it says to prop up the pedal is that meaning keep it pushed in(disengages if it was connected) or to prop it up in the air where it would be if the clutch was engaged? I took the pedal off and found that the pawl had moved to the other side of the quadrant where the furthest it could move was just before the teeth met the quadrant teeth before actually pushing against the quadrant. i took the pawl off and got it to the other side and it is now teeth to teeth with the quadrant so i want to make sure i get the cable on correctly

UPDATE: I put the clutch pedal back in after getting the pawl installed correctly and there is now the correct tension in the pedal and the fork moves just fine. Havent tried to start it yet. If the TOB and PP are bad it wont start correct?

Unless the trans or engine somehow seized up the last time you had it running, you should be able to start it just fine. I'd make sure there is nothing in the path of the lever on the trans before driving it though.

If the TOB did actually push through the pressure plate and got stuck there, you will hear some HORRIFIC noises coming from the bell housing when you start the car..

Please get video w/ audio :naughty:

okay so the tob and pp are all good and it shifts beautifully (thanks to Jose's Shorty shifter bushing and pin) buuut there is still a small problem. The clutch pedal goes to the floor but the rod that pushes in the switch that allows the car to start is not going in far enough to push in the switch. It gets to right at the switch and goes no further. I can start the car by pushing in the switch manually. Any ideas? Tried adjusting the pedal but it ends up in the same spot : /
