Valeo seems to have worked for me
i put a clutch master's unit in before the Valeo and it didn't last long, granted it was used but the person i got it from was reliable enough not to sell me crap (Nik97).

good new Valeo should be good to go.

That is bad news. The damage is done so feel free to drive it around locally to find another transmission, just flush it alot.
You have done the right thing by listing in the parts wanted section of this forum.
Don't get rid of it, no matter how bad you feel now about it.
Also look for a whole car, sometimes they show up out of nowhere. The average person is afraid of these cars (with the motorcycle motor), so there is always a deal on one somewhere.

If you are in western NY, it MIGHT make it to SE Michigan...Where the SHOForum Owner and MTX IV guru extraordinaire makes her home.

I would not drive it any more.

Why risk messing up the shafts/bearings/blocking rings/syncro's/etc...

Remember ALL of these parts are obsolete!!!!

DO NOT throw MTX parts away!!!!!!!

That is a totally false statement.

Several member's on here run Syncromesh.

No gear oil, on the other hand, is a no, no.

Like I said put syncromesh in there... good stuff. lol. I'm not trying to spread bad info. I do my best to take in all of the information that this forum has to offer and pass it along to those that might not spend as much time here as I do. (I'm an addict) The only reason that I said anything in the first place was because I read a rather long post about all kinds of fluids NOT to use and syncromesh was one that was on the top of the list. Thank you AREA91 for bringing the truth to light. sorry for the confusion just didn't want to see someone blowin up a new trans.

Good news on the fix. Let us know how the Royal purple ATF works; I run their motor oil it in all my vehicles.

No worries Jon! I an just trying to spread my experience with the MTX and different fluids.

I have used about every fluid under the sun.

so what fluids worked for you?

It really depends on the condition of the internals of your tranny.

If everything is fairly fresh, you would want to use a thinner fluid like Red Line or Mobil 1.

If your tranny has a lot of miles on it, and slightly grinds, you want to use a thicker fluid like BG or syncromesh.

I would start with Valvoline Max life ATF.

that sucks i could have spent a lot less money on that. royal purple isnt cheap. the internals looked good as far as i was concerned but im not really good with tranny's.

You might have read what I have said and experienced.

I know this thread is a few months old, but I ran across this in a search and just wanted to add information that I felt was left out.

I have used Synchromesh and not long after that time, I too blew my stock differential like the thread starter [have blown a number of differentials]. Using this fluid will not potentially damage anything else in the transmission, but it will help decrease the amount of **** that reaches the internals of the stock differential due to its extreme viscosity[thickness].

With the recommended fluid from the factory, the stock differetial does not have efficient ****. The result is a blown differential. By using Synchromesh, you potentially run the risk of blowing a stock differential because the starvation of fluid with the recommended fluid being increased with the usage of a thicker fluid [Synchromesh]. If you have a Quaife, WaveTech, or Reinforced Differential, it's no longer a problem for the transmission.

Yes, Synchromesh has been used successfully by others, but how many of them are running stock differentials? That's the big question. The thread starter was running a stock differential with Synchromesh. We don't know if the differential already had underlying problems from fluid starvation that the Synchromesh could have contributed to, but it's definately not out of the question.

Many SHO owners use Synchromesh to cure shifting problems. It works. However, there is a risk in my opinion if you are running Synchromesh. The best thing to do is get your differential reinforced, install a Quaife/WaveTech, or fix the real problems causing the shifting issues.
