Hi,

I'm looking for a reputable place to have a clutch/resurfaced flywheel put into my '94 pretty soon, I 'd like to have a shop do it, so I can maybe get a warranty with it.

Anyone know a good place to do it in West Michigan that's familiar with the SHO?

I'm in Grand Rapids...

Thanx,
Joe Dirt

Maybe I should re-phrase... I just didn't want someone to do it and have a problem putting something on or taking something off, and not have recourse if something else got messed up, that's all. I was thinking of having piece of mind that if something got messed up during the install that I wouldn't necessarily be responsible for it... Plus the whole "warranty of workmanship" thing even if prorated is better than nothing.

Thanx

Gotcha... Most shops guarantee their work anyways for a period of time. And I know a few places guarantee clutches as well, I believe my South Bend has a manufaturers defect warranty for like 1 yr/12k.

If you are at all concerned about longevity, don't get stock. Mine lasted only 40K, was dealer installed.
Get a kevlar disk, reinforced pressure plate. LIke Stage II from SPEC or similar. You will be glad you did. Very streetable , virtually stock feel. I am very happy with mine.

Most places don't warranty clutches simply because you can destroy one in a matter of minutes. On the other hand, most all shops have a basic 12 month/ 12,000 mile warrant covering labor.

If you're looking for something that's going to last you and give you some more bite, go with the Fibertuff/ Heavy Duty Pressure Plate combo available here and here.

People have also had good luck with the South Bend Rally clutches.

The specs grab well, but some of them have been known to physically break.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm in the middle of deciding whether to put in a clutch sometime over the next few months, replace the water pump, subframes, and end links, or just sell the car. It's no longer going to be a primary, and I don't know if I can justify to myself spending the money to make it what it should be just for me to enjoy it only on a limited basis.

Thanx again
