I was browsing some mx6/probe forums and found a guy who built a m62 supercharged probe. This is like an ac compressor and can be turned on at the flick of a switch. pretty cool...

Anyone ever thought about using one on a sho?

i've seen setups like that on bigger motors with the big 6:71 blowers, but this is the first time i've seen it used in a sport compact setup. cool idea.

Mercedes uses those on some of their Kompressor cars.

First, the M62 is way too small for the SHO motor. Second, the clutch engaged driven pulley is huge, so you would need a gigantic driver pulley to get the blower running fast enough to be useful even on a smaller engine. Third, they are pretty expensive.....

Plus the fact that it would have to be a jackshaft setup like this guy's.

just thought it would be kool to turn on the boost like nitrous.

if your just cruising down the interstate you can turn it off and probably loose some load on the engine...

On the original installations, I believe it was still computer controlled. Just with a switch instead of the vacuum operated bypass valve on the M-90's in GMs and Fords. Just like with your turbo Nick, it's not needed all the time. With this M-62, you only spin the lobes when you ask for less manifold vacuum and eventually a little positive pressure too.
