i don't have amy input on the clutch issue, just wanted to say that is one **** of a nice looking SHO, man i wish mine looked like that, one day. Love the engine bay.

Im glad you liked it!

Well,

I found out what was the problem ... i dropped the subframe and took the tranny out in about 1 and a half hours. Well no bolts had backed out but, since the 2 holes that were prevously stripped on the flywheel were not torque correctly for fear of stripping them again the clutch plate was not seating completely. i would say around that area there is about a 1-2mm gap.

So i figured that when i started the car with the clutch engaged it was fully seated. When i began to release it the rivets started hitting the tranny case on the inside.

The damage was not to be concerned of and it DIDNOT crack the tranny case.
Like i said damage is minimal. But the TOB did dig in a bit into the fingers of the plate. I might have to get the pressure plate sent to SPEC and rebuilt.

Here are some images of the tranny. ...

If you look closely towards the bottom of the tranny you can see some damage.

This is not a good pic but just so you know what was hitting the tranny...
the blue area of the plate in the middle of the picture next to the bolt, the plate to strap rivet was the one hitting the tranny.

Fixed ... up and running.

Well i have the car all back together and have no clutch problems.

What i did is that i measured the depth of the holes in the flywheel where the PP mates. It had about an extra half inch in depth. So i tapped the hole some more since its not tapped all the way from factory (SPEC flywheel) I got longer bolts from local ACE hardware store. (M8 X 1.25 X ??). I tapped all the holes and swithced to the longer bolts so there wouldnt be an imbalance in the flywheel.

I was carefull when torquing down the bolts for the PP. I did it in 3 steps.
First 15 ft/lb then 20 and finished with 24ft.lb. They are locktited as well.
