Clutch- 2 sizes?

Took my car in for a clutch job and the guy said first he had to find out which size clutch it had because there are 2 sizes for the SHO. I wasn't aware of this! Anyone?????

half-way there, I think.
The first year to year and half - Ford put a 9 1/4" clutch in the SHO. Realizing that this clutch was not holding up they switched to a 9 3/4". Most of the earlier 9 1/4" clutches were replaced under recall, but not all. If you a SHO that is 91'-95' - you have the 9 3/4" unit.

Pull the starter off and look at the side of the pressure plate on the other side of the flywheel/ring gear. If it looks like the flywheel continue's on (outside of PP is same OD as the flywheel) then it's the 9.75" unit. If you can't see the edge of the PP, then it's the 9.25" unit.
