I have an '89 SHO that developed a problem after I had the wheel bearings replaced. Whenever I'm turning at a slow speed and say hit a small bump or when I'm backing out and turning sharply, I get a clunk that sometimes comes from the shock towers and other times comes from the floorboard. I've had it looked at multiple times and nothing is ever found to be loose. I also notice that the front end sits higher now and I have Eibachs on it. Where as before I could get three fingers between the top of the tire and fender lip, now four will fit. Also the car has more torque steer in it than before and I attribute this to it sitting higher. I went ahead and put a new rack in it last month because the inner tire rods were starting to go and it had well over 193,000 miles on it and that didn't cure it. I'm thinking that the end links on the sway bar are the culprit but they seem tight but one side is the old metal style and the other is the newer plastic style that is also on upside down, but I don't see where that would make a difference. I've also tested the strut rods and they are tight also. Does anybody know of anything else that could cause this?

I forgot to mention that it has Aluminium SFBs so I don't think that they are doing it.

It's not the CV joints either. I'm going to replace the sway bar links as soon as the weather gets better and hopefully that will take care of it. If not, then I'll look at the strut rods.

Give a "tug" on the front sway bar to strut end links. When mine was loose, it did the same thing yours did. It this is the case, spend the money for the Moog greaseable ones. You won't be sorry. :thumb:

How about a part number or a link to those greaseable Moogs?? The parts store monkeys never seem to be able to come up with anything.

I went ahead and replaced the links and that seems to have cured it. One of the ends was so loose, it was just flopping around.
