Right after I did my alignment on... Monday the 25th I was coming up my street up a hill about 3,000 RPM's and when I turned left at about 3 quarters of the way turned to the left it got hard to turn and kinda stuck where I put it past there.

I noticed that it doesn't get like that if I'm sitting still at a stop and I also noticed it is worse if I'm giving it gas around a sharp left hand 90degree angle turn like that.

Well, I was thinking it was my power steering pump because it allready jerks while on like on ramps or exit ramps it kinda wobbles unless I hold it steady. Think the vaps is screwy gets easy then hard to turn around ramps but anyways I didn't mind when it was doing that but when the steering was hard and sticky it concerned me.

I left work today and got on it just a little bit my work is like an eigth of a mile from parking spot to driveway.. anyways I was going down the hill down the road got on it for like 1 second and then started slowin down for my street and heard a clunk noise a couple times sounded like runnning over a chunk of ice about the size of a snowball best way I can describe noise.. Then I actually felt the stiff steering while taking a right turn into my street.

So I'm going down my street and I stopped turned left to back up driveway put in reverse heard the clunk again.. When I was at top of driveway I put it in park, then put it in drive when I let go of brake it makes clunk noise.. I went from drive to reverse a few times and everytime I let go of brake it would make the noise again.

Next I popped my hood (it's dark out) so I could just about see but I was watching the intake to see how much the engine moved when I put it in park and then into reverse and drive. It moved a good amount so my best guess motor mounts or subframe bushings? Does this sound right? I'm not no ase certified master mechanic (haha) but I'm not sure if I should be driving this about a 45 min drive there and then 45 min back tomorrow? Any advice would help.. Thanks, Ryan

It could possibly be both the bushings and the mounts, but my first guess would be the motor mounts.

Let's see... clunks when you stop, start, or turn.

Sounds like CV axles to me. You also need to replace your mounts; they could be causing the LCAs to clunk. Damn, it could be anything if you dont' have a good maintenance history on the car...

had this problem on my original 90.....subframe mounts were junk. Give it a looksee

I vote for this option....

Unfortunately, if the car is sitting on level ground, you probably can't see the problem.

I would jack up on the front of the subframe and look at the rear mounts. I bet they gave out. If they are broken, you will see that the rear of the subframe will drop a bit after you put pressure on the front of it.

EDIT: I guess you found the problem.... http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=86164
