Did you post to the wrong state club?
Guess I missed something a long time ago.
I should have kept up with the threads more.

You know I've been to the North and the people just aren't as friendly. Damn Yankees...Come on down here, the weather is better.

Where have you been hanging out.......we have half of Houston area filled with Yankees...over the years, I have seen a dwindling of the true Southern hospitality......it's getting near death. You may be too young to remember the good ole days of Houston times when we waved at each other on the freeway and stopped on the emergency lanes of 610 to chat!

I believe that Texas had developed its reputation for kindness and hospitality because, in the early days, the state was primarily rural and it was just a good thing to bump into someone. Well, we still have a lot more room than the Northeast and we are always willing to welcome those that want to be here.

Yeah, I agree with the other guys. Texas is great. People are a lot more laid back and less bent out of shape about things. I love it here in Dallas and there are a lot of nice people around here. All the guys I've found that have joined the club so far are really great to hang out with and discuss things with and go to the track with, ect ect. It's been loads of fun already, even if I haven't known everyone for very long. I would totally recommend coming to DFW or Texas if you ever get a chance, whether it be to visit or move here. It's really a very nice change compared to the North. I think you'd be really pleased.

And as for our club, we're very active and like to participate in a lot of events and as I've said in earlier posts, we are going to start meeting on a monthly basis to discuss events and things going on throughout the year. It really should be a lot of fun. And where the other clubs in the DFW area have failed in the past (for what reasons, I'm not sure), this one will not fail. We seem to have a lot of great participating members so far and everyone seems to love going to events and having fun. So I see no loss of a group in our area in the near future. And we all seem to know our cars pretty well, and if we don't, we have someone we can call and ask about it. I think we have some strong ties here and great resources, so we're setup well as far as I can tell.

You should really look into visiting this area sometime in the near future just to get a feel for it. I think you'd be much more pleased with us down here than the people and atmosphere up there...but that's just my opinion. Thanks for the post, we really appreciate it! Good luck.

hehehe - Yeah, I'm extremely active. I'd go to an autocross or drag race daily if it were possible. :) That's why I schedual as many events as I can. I really hope some of the Houston guys can start coming up from time to time to participate in some of the autocrosses or other events!! We had one houston guy come up to the Probe/SHO meet...that was cool. He's in the club, but I'm sure it'll be sort of hard for him to make too terribly many events, but ****, that's fine with me! Just as long as he comes whenever he's able, that's great. The more people the better! Maybe he'll start provoking the other Houston guys to join him up here with us from time to time! I can't wait to see a few SHOs out on the autocross course kickin' @$$ and takin' names...or kickin' BMW @$$es and takin' their wallets. LOL just kidding. hehehe BMWs rock!

Well, there's an Equip Reped Autocross this sunday I'm considering going to...not quite sure yet, though, because they charge $25 for 4-6 runs (I don't know how many...haven't been out there yet) And I usually just pay $25 for 8 runs at the BMWCCA events. SOOOOO....I may still wait a week or two and go to the BMWCCA only instead of both of these...just depends. I'll probably go this weekend though. Give me a call if you want info on it. Let it ring like 6 times and leave me a message if I'm not there. Be sure and email me your phone number and I'll call ya' back as soon as I can. I'll go out there probably around 8-9am Sunday morning. Talk to ya' later Mike. My number's in my signature.

MOst of us are rather friendly. If someone isn't we just beat the crap out of them until their attitude changes. :)

Ok, that was a joke. We have been blessed over the years in what is now called LSSHOC with many really great folks.

And it was a guy from the northeast that called me a Gerbil Ass. Hmmm.

Nothin' wrong with Chicago. Just as a general rule, most people are aware that people in the north are not as friendly as the people in the south. Not all of them, just as a whole.
