Hey guys, recently as I was installing my cd player, I had the upper portion of the dash on my '89 partially unclipped which I slightly flexed to install the cd player, afterwards I pressed back on it to clip it back in, and -snap- it all popped back in one shot.

I started putting in the screws but I thought I'd make sure everything worked first. Turned the car on and everything lit, except my Climate Control backlight. At first I could just BARELY read it. A few minutes later I couldn't read it at all. Could I have broken the light / unhooked it? How exactly is it set up and what are my options! Thanks.

Oh GAWD! I finally got to the light! I had to pull the entire dash to get at the climate control, then the face of the CC had to come off, then the circuit board just to get that bulb. Pulled it out as I await the opening of the dealership on wednesday. Pep Boys doesn't carry the light.

Wow, for my first "working on" my car, quite an experience.

Any tips on dash re-assembly? I plan to tackle it on wednesday.

Its not a hard job, the dash is an easier thing to take care of, also Napa auto parts carries the bulbs in stock, but you need to take the bulb out of the grey piece that it rests in, you can only replace the BULB, not the grey socket thing, it will pull pretty hard most likely, but it does come out. then just go get a new bulb, they are like $1.00. Good luck, and when you put the dash back on, remember too hook up the clock
