climate control exterior temperature reading

After finishing the clutch service, the exterior temperature reading shows a constant 99 degrees. How should this be trouble-shooted?

Intermittent Heating and Cooling. Outside Temperature Display Sometimes Inaccurate

Possible Source(s):
2. Sensor wire harness open or shorted.

Action(s) to Take:
Disconnect battery cables. Disconnect wire harness connector from sensor and disconnect both connectors from the control assembly.
Inspect for crimped terminals.
Check for continuity and for possible shorting between the two wire (Pins 1 and 2). Service if necessary. Reconnect wire harness and battery cables.
