clicking nosie

whenever i turn the wheel, i hear a very loud clicking noise. i know my car needs tie rods and an alignment, but i don't this this clicking noise is totaly or at all related to those problems. does anyone know what this noise could be?

It will be the CV joints (axles). Do they click when you turn either direction or just one?

actually, i'm not that sure if it's both directions, i really didn't pay attention (i'm not driving the car right now, it's parked waiting for maintence), but when it was being backed out of the driveway last night, it made the clicking noise when it was turned to the right.
