Clearing the codes

Anybody know how to clear the codes on a 93 MTX?

I've searched high and low and used the search function couldn't find anything on how to clear the codes..just how to reset the idle..

I have been told you just pull the code reader as it's in the process of pulling codes,is this correct?

Don't the codes clear when you disconnect the battery for a little while?
