I think the plastic cleaner is called Novius or somthing to that affect.
I cleaned mine by sanding them down with 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper then spraying 3 coats of clear Poly on them. Works really well.

Go to this link and buy NuLite:

I bought some and did my yellowed lights in November and they still look great! I suppose you could wetsand and then clearcoat your lights as well but this has some crazy acrylic glaze that comes with the kit that you apply... REALLY seems to do the trick!

If you buy from them, see if you can get them to make sure that the glass vial hasn't hardened from the cap not being on tight enough. My first NuLite tub had already set up on me so it was useless.

Be sure you coat the lens's with something or else they will get yellowed even faster than normal. I don't know about the clearcoat paint but the NuLite has worked for the last 4+ months for me.

Fred, is that fiberglass gelcoat? That sounds like it would be good to try as well.

One suggestion to anyone who's refinishing their headlights.. just pull them out and stick them in a bench vise. Then when you sand them down just remove those stupid knobs on the end.. they're useless if you dont' have the factory aiming tool anyway.

I would probably suggest starting at no less than 300 or 400 grit and working down to as high a grit as you can and wetsanding after 800-1000. It'll take longer but your results will be better.

Might want to coat them with clear Imron or, even better, a marine clear poly that stresses having lots of UV inhibitors. That will keep them clear for a long time.
