Hey Guys. . .after 84k miles my engine has gotten really dirty. . . I picked up some Simple Green Dgreser spray today and it worked wonders on some parts on t he engine but it still doesn't look completely clean. . .
Here are some pics

Simple Green cleaned it but it doesn't shine. I have parts of the engine I can't reach either like the spots next to the ignition wires. There are grey little spots all across the manifold. Is that ever going to come off (apparent in the second picture). Any other advice will help. I have Simple Green is there anything else I need?
Thanks Guys. . . hail

I just went to the car wash with mine. I just bouht it from some guy in NC and there was clay everywhere, I just used the engine degreeser there and than sprayed it off and it came out pretty good. There are some spots where I have to get in there with a paper towel or something but try it, best 3.00 I spent. thumb

The use of water, especially from a high pressure source, has the potential to create a great amount of electrical problems with the SHO's engine control system. You might want to search on this topic about the number of owners who have found out the hard way about the risks of water on the engine.

I've done a search and I dunno if I am too sure to use the hose under the hood. I wouldn't kno where to 'not spray' and 'spray'. I just wanted to know what was the best way to get in the nooks and crannies. Or if there are any better cleaners. . .

just spray simple green on the spots, take a wet cloth, and wipe it off. takes more time, but it looks better and won't screw anything up. USE HOSE AT OWN RISK! I did and learn'ed my lesson.

I am on the hose side of the fence :p

You need to be careful and smart if you take this route. Cover the important parts, and go easy on the electrical areas.

I use engine degreaser and a hose. Then I use Armor All to make it shine.
