That is probably real measured test data, but if you look closely, you'll see that it references the "current SG/CD ratings." Those were the current ratings back in, oh, 1985 or so. This article is at least 15-17 years old. Many things may have changed since then. One thing I won't be changing from is my faithful Castrol GTX.

Well here is a question.

GTX is good for keeping buildup and keeps the engine looking good if used faithfully from new.

Here's the question though what oil would be best at CLEANING an already varnished engine like 75% of the ones i have seen. Are some oild better at picking at dirt and contaments then others?

Any thoughts?
