hi all, i tried asking on our baysho mailing list. below is the response i got. any ideas?

from baysho member:
Yeow! I get a page for '89 Sable caliper brackets from that URL.

But the answer you're looking for is that AZ has their collective heads up their butts. Their listing for '96 SHO is the same as for the '94-on
SLO's.
:-(

Better check the bigger lists for recent buyer experience. That price is dreadful for what you get - but IIRC they are limited production items
as they are only for the Gen III SHO's.

from me:

are these the right 96 brackets?

if so, why are shonut's over $50/piece?

Your best source is the junkyard. Autozone does not have the correct brackets and the 94 brackets that came with their loaded caliper set actually notched on me, locking the pads in place.

The same brackets are used on the '95+ Lincoln Continental. It's easier to use that to look up caliper brackets since you won't inadvertently get the '94 Taurus ones.

My dad ordered the last ones he got from a dealer and with his jobber discount I think they came out to <$80 each. I'll have to check with him.

Chances of finding them at a junkyard are low, but possible. Call around and ask for a '95 Continental. They have an interchange book and they shouldn't screw that up.

IMO, the best place to get the caliper brackets is with the loaded calipers from Advanced Auto Parts for about $45 per side. That way you get rebuilt calipers and the correct brackets for less than you'd otherwise be paying for just the brackets. Of course, they also come with pads, but I just chucked those and replaced 'em with Carbotechs.
