Teg brought up a good point. Are you doing the work, or are you paying someone else to do the work?

Assuming that you are paying for it to be done, with oil in the wells, then you are looking at doing the top 60K. Replace the plug well seals and valve cover gaskets. While it's opened up, check/replace the valve shims. You may as well do plugs/wires while you are at it, if they are old and or oily.

We offer a kit for $529.00 that offers the following:

- Valve cover gaskets & Plug well seals
- Spark Plug wires
- Spark Plugs
- Front main seal
- Timing belt
- Crank position sensor
- Water pump
- Accessory Belts
- Intake Gaskets (Heads to runners & Runners to plenum)

It's still pricey, but a whooooooole lot cheaper than paying someone to do it.

You make the call. Check here for prices on the most common parts and when they should be replaced.

fuhsho,

Make a list of what needs to be done and what it will cost. Do what is critical first. For example, if the timing belt is ready to disintigrate it would be first on the list.

Since the front crankshaft seal is very inexpensive, and would cost very little extra to replace when the timing belt is replaced, it should be done at the same time as the timing belt.

Next, repair all leaks starting with (again) those that could cause a catastrphic malfunction.

Then do the maintanence that is due or overdue with what ever money you have left.

DO NOT DO ANY "MODS" until your SHO is brought up to specification.

Plan on bugeting $30 to $50 (or more) a month for doing the needed repairs and maintanence. rangerj
