I have an 89 SHO and am having problems changing the fuel pump. It is rusted to the gas tank. I would rather switch to a fuel cell rather than go through the hassle of pulling another gas tank out of the junk yard. I have no problem coming up with a fuel cell, but I can not find a fuel pump that will provide enough pressure. Most fuel pumps that I have found only pump a maximum of 12 pounds. Does anyone have any suggestions? shrug

Are you removing the pump properly? The lock ring needs to be rotated about an inch or so, then just lift it out. Even on my salty and rusted 87 that wasn't much of a problem.

If I work at it enough I could get the lock ring to move, but I would rather go with a fuel cell for safety reasons on the track.
