After much research a couple of years ago I tried the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant for the once a year approach, and I have been happy with that (except that I still have the once a year torture that Ron mentions).

Definitely a fan of ceramic coating. I found a local guy to do it for $225 that included wash, clay treatment and 1 year sealant protection, plus $75 for the wheels, to be deep cleaned and application of wheel guard. I didn't get the paint correction because overall its pretty good and then every new nick or scratch would would seriously **** me off. He recommended I maintain it with Griots spray on wax, which i've done a few times since. Good beading and seems to stay cleaner.

Collinite 476s is for waxing change of seasons and using the monthly car wash deal, washing your car there at least twice weekly!
Shines and beads like a mirror, easy on n off no buffing etc. Uv protection, bird doo flicks right off, love the stuff...they don't advertise they don't have too...

They have done a great advancement in their products. Back years ago, the SHO world had Collinite fans, but it was the pure carnauba with the life expectancy of a mosquito. But, these were people that looked forward to doing a 3-step ever few weeks, not the "annual torture" I call it.

They have several waxes one is 100% carnuba some special expensive stuff reserved for car show shine. I wax mine piece meal. All sunny spots like hood trunk roof gets a little more love. My car has never stopped beading water even in the Florida rainy season and not waxed when too hot. I use it for excercise....all I can do at my age on chemo...I used to use another old time favorite, but it got hard to find...liquid glass. Great stuff, no wax in that stuff!

Got mine done with SB3 Coatings along with claybar. Been raining off and on for a couple of weeks here. Here are pics "dirty." Makes for easy washing. Ceramic definite need for black cars.

I personally am a huge fam of the Adam's Graphene Coating. Easy to apply, 3 year life, just lack motivation to do it haha.

I’d love a professional ceramic coat, but I live in a small town, and I don’t thunk anyone here does it. Sad days.

I had to look up the current Collinite 845 & 476 waxes, as years back, they were pure carnauba, which is only good for cars that never see the elements, and lasts about a week out of a car cover.

Looks like they've added polymer to their formulations. The folks who enjoyed waxing their cars every two weeks are, well, mostly dead.

Personally, I like NXT, a full polymer wax, for the once a year exercise in torture! Yeah, I don't do car shows!
Actually, there isn't a wax on the market that is pure carnuba. It wouldn't melt enough to spread. There are a few expensive waxes that are either white or yellow carnuba, a high percentage, and you actually have to apply with your hands to get it to melt.

I use ArmorShield XI on all my cars and put it on my new Mach 1 on the second day of ownership earlier this year. It's been on my SHO for over three years and late last year was starting to show less beading. I'll redo it at the next opportunity. If you have a dark color car (especially black or dark blue) be sure the paint prep is done first, otherwise you seal in the swirls and it's a bear to get through the coating once it's on.

Yep. I first found Meguiar's #20 polymer, then they came out with NXT, and it's been my favorite for years. I'm a once a year guy, and the carnauba (sp?) stuff doesn't work for a DD.

Got lazy, and went with Produxa (like F11), on the previous car, and this one. Both were detailed by the dealers before purchase. And it works fine for me. My random orbital hasn't been used in years! Plus, being a DD in Michigan, they regularly go through car washes.
