CD player no worko

OK, I just tried the Clicking Cd player fix that was listed on SHOtimes, b/c my cd player hadn't been reconizing that a cd was put into the player. After pulling it, cleaning the two servo button things, putting it back together, and into the car, it still wont work :headbang: ! All it says is Error 1 and Error 2 on the led screen.

I've noticed that where the back servo switch is, no metal peice touches it, is this normal? And I know that when A disk is put in, both of the bars inside the insert slot move. Anybody have any idea on what I should do? I'm starting to get mad at this darn CDplayer.

It happened a lil over 6 months ago, and did the whole click thing, but it fixed itself some-how . I worked fine after it fixed itself up untill 1 month ago. Now If I put a disk in, the disk will go in all the way, but the cd player wont pull it in itself like it should. And if a disk is inserted in all the way, it's stuck untill I pull the unit apart, does anyone know what I should do. I'd get a new cd player, but I'm low on cash, and my birthday is still 3 months away

If your getting error messages it's time to get another CD player. Look for one from a 98 or 99 Mustang. They updated the design and those units are much more reliable.

Those will plug up and fit without needing a wiring harness? I had read somewhere on here that any '92-'97 cd player would fit perfectly in the SHO, but if a '98-'99 model ones will fit fine, then I'd rather go with something that has a lil less age on it. I was planning on calling around to the junkyards today to see about the '92-'97 models, but like I said, if the 98/99's will fit I'll get those in a heartbeat.

Yes the 98-99 Mustang slave CD player will work fine. I have one in mine. They look the same on the outside as the older ones but the internals are completely different. Sony eliminated the little micro switches completly making it a much more reliable unit. They also play burned CD much better. Look on ebay also, I got mine for $50 or so.

what kind of cd are you using, if it is a cd recordable then I suspect that is your main culprit. Try a regular cd if you are using recordables. Not only do early model cd players not read recordables but stock cd players suck anyways. I would just stay away from stock equipment and look for a nice cd/mp3 player for your sho.
