Will a CCRM box from a 94 ATX car work in a 93 MTX? That is what I can find in the bone yards here in Central Oregon.

The ATX CCRM is a J model, the 1993 MTX uses an M model.

So no, it will not work properly. You need a CCRM out of a 89-93 MTX to get the M model.

I missed that you were one of the local people. From experience, you might have a hard time finding a CCRM at a yard in Portland. I think we might have one around though. You can email at [email protected]

I'm sure these boxes have different labels for a reason, but a a Ford guy told me that this is a universal part for all Taurus', so when mine went out, I went to a U-pull it junkyard, took one off a base 92 Taurus GL, slapped it on the SHO, and all has been well every since. Paid $25 for it, but Ford want like $175.

I did pull one off a 93 GL and tried it on the SHO, did not work. I fond the one for the 94 in a local yard, it has the "J" on it. I have not put it on, Mike said it would not work, it's not worth the time to try.

The regular Taurus SLO (LX, GL, G) that had auto transmission also used a J CCRM. So your guy was partly right. The Regular Taurus CCRM will work in an Automatic 93-95 ATX.

DigDeez, it is not that ez anymore, when the relay went out I fix the car to run without it. Now to put in a ccrm to check that it would work I will have to reverse what I did to make it run, not to hard just a little time.
