Did you use upper perches with needle thrust bearings?

Engrish? lol They are the stock IPT mounts. I wanted to changed the bearings but I think that might be down the road. My idea was for the rear to have those spacers chopped in half, as well as the studs.

Gary, I looked everywhere to find which sleeves/collars you used. Also, those are hypercoil springs right? Ive always wanted more info on your setup.

Those look very sexy, nice work!

You should be able to use an 8" spring up front, anything shorter and you really need to do your coil bind math carefully, run a stupid-high rate spring, and find a really stiff strut bumper. Coil bind will break the strut tower sheet metal.

10" spring in the rear means you need to move the upper spring perch up as high as possible in the strut tower, and that means getting rid of the spacers that were part of the original IPT rear upper plates. These are my long body rears with 10" 350 pound springs.
New rear strut assys
Now the thread title is true.

Yep, Hypercoils, 500 front, 350 rear.

Here's a two piece upper spring perch with needle thrust bearing.

Jury's out on whether these are absolutely necessary, but they are a nice upgrade for the fronts.

My sleeves, perches and upper spring hats are all Coleman Machine pieces, nothing special. Stock strut housings were prepped, sandblasted and Nickel plated.

Very nice. I think ill run these for the convention and some autox this year, then pull them for inspection to see if its necessary. I do like the SS mounts.

I think we should do some sort of post on what spring rate you run.

Amo, I ran these IPT units on my 95 and my turbo, they proved to be very robust. I do not recall the spring rates, seems like 450F 300R if memory serves.

Last year, I upgraded to the SHOSOURCE front plates and articulating spring mounts, I like very very much. I will post a pic this afternoon.

Ingalls and the articulating mounts for me. Plan to swap the ingalls out for SHO source camber plates this coming winter/next spring. I'll find out shortly how I like the articulating mounts. :woo-hoo:

Keep them greased and make sure the grease is checked regulary, Otherwise they will pop and make all kind of cool noises.
