And yes Gary M, you were my inspiration.

Here is the tubes with sleeves installed. I used thick electrical tape on the inside to insure it stays in place. I actually had to press the sleeves down.

And the Finished product. Note: these are IPT coilovers that are very old. I took these completely apart and cleaned them. Im also getting new springs because they are ridiculously short. I also want softer rates.

Here is my new valve cover also. Teaser for what else is to come.

These look awesome man! When I put mine all back together I plan to clean the up and give them some fresh paint. Are you going to wait for the new springs before you install? Going with 10" rear? what size fronts?

I think im going to try 10in front and rear. Ill be measuring them up before ordering though.

I know that with this setup you can run 8in front and 10in rears. This kit actually came with 6in front springs and 7in rear springs. The guy that built them said it was because most of the people that wanted them back then said all they wanted to do was slam their car to the ground so it looks good.

I think your setup has all 7in springs right?

I don't even remember now, I want to say the fronts are 7 and rears are 6. I have the rears as high as they will go and my tires are right at the fenders, way too short! The fronts are about 1/2 the way down and leaves me with about 1 finger of wheel gap. I'm undecided what I'm going to do with the car right now but planning 10" rears and then I'll see how the car rides and change the fronts accordingly.

Look on Summit, they have a few options. They have some QA1 springs (I think that's the brand) for really cheap. I was going to start looking for reviews/comments about them online but never got to it. I'm sure the quality matches the price but it's worth looking in to.

I am running what comes stock in the GC kit. Don't remember off the top of my head.

Those look very sexy, nice work!

Did you use upper perches with needle thrust bearings?

You should be able to use an 8" spring up front, anything shorter and you really need to do your coil bind math carefully, run a stupid-high rate spring, and find a really stiff strut bumper. Coil bind will break the strut tower sheet metal.

10" spring in the rear means you need to move the upper spring perch up as high as possible in the strut tower, and that means getting rid of the spacers that were part of the original IPT rear upper plates. These are my long body rears with 10" 350 pound springs.
New rear strut assys
