O k i'm sure this has been asked several times but has anyone seen quarter mile gains from installing a catt back exhaust on your SHO? I already have the tune, cold air intake, and catted downpipes and was looking at catt backs only if it gives you something to improve your times? Has anyone tested the before and after results?

Everything I've read is you'll gain more sound than power and a cat-back will not give you a noticeable gain for the money spent. If you're wanting to go faster, I'd do methanol injection instead.

I would wonder if the information people have are from people doing catback BEFORE downpipes or if it's catback AFTER downpipes. It's know the downpipes are the bottleneck in the stock system so if you do catback first, you won't see many gains. But if you did downpipes first, that might make the stock catback the new bottleneck. Since most people do catback before downpipes (thus people then say catback doesn't give gains), it's enough to make me wonder.

I could have sworn I saw somewhere on the ecoboost forum that someone lowered their time .15 in the quarter from a corsa exhaust but couldn't find it again. I do like staying quiet so if nobody has verified gains then to me its not worth money spent.

I've only heard of people making gains worth talking about (from a cat-back), when paired with downpipes. Where the biggest gains when DPs and CB are concerned, I'm not sure there is a solid answer.

Yes, the oem downpipes are a substantial restriction with these cars. It would only seem logical that after the downpipes are upgraded, the factory exhaust becomes the new bottleneck.
