when would i know when the cats go bad, what signs to look for, im thinking about getting a high flow y-pipe w/cats and new o2 sensors, but kinda tight with money right now so when i do get extra money i will be investing in that, but for now i want to make sure my cats are still good, thanks

Get under car...
Bang on cats...
if they make any noise, I'd stop driving the car.

But you have to remember, even if they don't make any sound, they could still be on there way out. They just haven't came apart yet.

yea chunks of that honeycomb stuff might be floating around. my friends rx-7 had a cat for a while and figured out it was totally clogged when it was bright red and made the whole exhaust ghost white from heat i think.

It will rattle inside if it is broken.

good stuff right there
