As i browse the forum i see more and more members recomending catless y pipes. As i need to replace my cats (everything points to the fact that they are clogged although i have yet to take them apart) i would like to know the benefits of going catless. From my understanding a little low end torque is lost but overall power is increased (or i could be completely wrong). But will a catless exhaust pass emmisions in MA? This is the main concern for me as i already have a big R where my inspection sticker should be. Thanks for your help.

Actually, I think that most will recommend the catted y-pipe, but the catless is much cheaper wink

Yes, you will most likely loose a bit of low end, but gain a bit up top.

And if you have a properly mainitained SHO it should have no problem passing smog. If you are really worried, simply keep your old y-pipe and install it just to pass smog, then replace it with the catless thumb
