So it seems like the guts on the cat on the Y-pipe coming off the motor have come loose. I heard a strange vibration noise and assumed it was a heat shield, but it seems to be inside the cat and it sounds terrible. I'm assuming this might have happened when I had the motor out of the car and we moved it around with my dad's dozer. I'm sure it probably shook things loose since dozers do that....

What's the best way to fix this? I heard the complete y-pipe is ridiculously priced. I'm not too worried about emissions since I live in a place that doesn't have emissions testing. I would probably be exempt anyway since the car sees less than 4,000 miles a year. However I don't want to have a constant check engine light or anything either. Any suggestions? One of my favorite things about the car is the sound and it's driving me nuts right now. I'm also worried about the cat guts clogging up the exhaust. I'd like to get it fixed by winter. Thanks for reading.

After doing some more reading it looks like I am talking about the 3rd cat. If I punch the guts out of it will it cause a check engine light? Does anyone sell the delete pipes or do I just have to look on ebay? Thanks

There are no codes that the 3rd cat will cause. I just got a generic 2.5" flex pipe and then cut the flanges off the 3rd cat and welded them to the flex pipe. Bolts right up.

We offer a complete y-pipe assembly for $400 (plus shipping) and we've got them in stock and ready to ship. We also have a 3rd cat delete pipe for $129.

For those that would like a catless y-pipe, we offer those too.
