Ok the car is sitting in front of my house. It will crank and turn over but won't run. Everythign looks fine and it sounds normal when turning over but it won't run. I just replaced the starter two weeks ago and I just got back from a cruise so the car did sit for a week. But it did run yesterday and the night before. This happened once before at the movies but after a half hour of trying it started and I havn't had a problem since. I think it might be the crankshaft position sensor. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else it could be. Thanks.

Yeah they are up at about 300 when it cranks. I tried a rolling start and popped the clutch in second and the rpms were at about 500 but it still didn't start it just rolled along in gear. I am pretty stumped. Im gonna go try to start it again in a few min.

Check your DIS module, make sure it has good connection, as well as your crossover tube, that will cause the car to not start, but turn over...

Well the car is on a battery charger now cuz i drained it from trying to start it so many times. It is almost fully charged so im gonna try again soon. Terry, I can hear the fuel pump spool up. Everything else seems to be normal. It just won't run. What is the DIS and where is it located. I want to check everythign possible before I spend money to fix things. Thanks again.

It's either not getting spark or fuel. If you are getting a spark, the CPS is not the problem. You would then need to check for adequate fuel rail pressure and injector operation. If no spark, check the EEC codes for failures. Inspect the DIS connections and ground path and the coil pack connector.

I know this really sounds odd considering it's a fuel injected car, but try holding the gas to the floor as you are starting it.
Actually, thats not odd. That is usefull ona flooded start. When you hold the gas to the floor on a fuel injected engine, the fuel pump will not run while cranking allowing the engine to start if it was flooded.

I would pull a plug and crank the engine to check for spark. If you have spark then also check the fuel pressure. You need to find out what is missing first before you start the diagnose. Key on engine off test might be helpful.

I know this might sound stupid, but you said that it sat for a week, could it have been taped by another car? Or did you do anything in the trunk (heavy luggage or something?), Before tearing the car apart, I would check on the inside driver's side of the trunk and see if the emergency fuel shutoff button is out. That might be the problem why it won't start. It would prevent fuel getting to the engine. It is only a 2 second check and save hours of agrivation.
