for what do you want the valuation?

nadaguides.com and kbb.com are the two main sources that banks use when figuring what the load value (trade in value) of a vehicle is.

if you want to sell the car privately, typically you can get slightly more than trade in value.

if you want to sell the car to a dealer, you will have to visit several to see which will give you the most money. in our market, carmax typically will pay the most, but it does depend on how desirable it is from a resell perspective.

not only e.g. completely stock, but also seasonality plays into it - convertibles in Montana in November are going to be discounted from the book, while 4wd vehicles should bring all the money. And, regional preferences play into it - if you are in a state where everyone has a Ford pickup, you are not going to get full book for your Dodge pickup if you try to sell it.

And, yes I can look up Manheim too, but they often don't break things down fine enough - you don't know if the car had navigation, moonroof, and leather or not from most of the Manheim listings, so there is still some wiggle room in those numbers too.

What year/mileage?

I can lookup on Manheim, which is true wholesale.
2013 20,500miles. Has Performance Package, Navigation, Heated/Cooled Massage Seats, Sony Premium Sound, Moonroof with White Pearlescent Paint. Wondering if I can get better than the Lease return. Went by a local Ford/Lincoln dealer to test out two vehicles and salesmen/manager were circling like vultures around my car.

Trade-in will be less than dealer pricing. If I look up my cars value as a trade-in, it comes in at 27,640. But purchase from a dealer ranges from 29,900-31,500. I paid 30,500 for it.

2014 Dark Side Metallic 401a package w/ 17,300 miles
Adaptive Cruise control
Navigation
Moon-Roof
Cargo organizer
Multi-contoured seats
Optional 20" 10-spoke wheels, black painted machined face
brand new BFGoodrich gForce Comp 2 A/S tires all around

And obviously all the standard options of heated/cooled front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, dual zone air conditioning, rain sensing wipers, auto headlights w/ auto high-beams, blind-spot information system, blah blah blah ....
