Car stuttered...

Hey all, just being lazy - performed a noise delete - took the car for a quick drive around my community.

I quickly did a WOT - heard the driver side tire break pavement, then the car stuttered/lost acceleration - lost power.

I just thought hey - you forgot to turn off traction control - however it's been bugging me. I am generally pretty good with turning off traction control.

Does this sound like it's kicking in?

It kicks in when it feels like it. There is times where i stomp it and its fine and other times it just falls on its face to protect everything. It dont do it or very little if TC is off. If you still get it with TC off, try pulling the abs fuse and see if it still shuts down. There will be all kinds of boodoodoo and idiot lights but its fine. It can help narrow it down. Too many nannys on these new time cars. Least fun car i own. My 90 sho gives you the fear of flying off the road with 50mph burnouts on demand. Teaches you to respect these machines. I believe the torque management threshold can be raised by your tuner. If my car was too cold (1st pass off the trailer) it would still shut me down. Maybe your car was too cold, transmission temp too cold? Or you need that TM threshold increased. I’m interested in learning if TM can be raised so high it would be like eliminating it completely. Working around the stock ECU I need the car to just do what I tell it to and not interfere, if something breaks then it’s something that needs to be upgraded. Like in the old days.

Thanks you are right as well, I am here in FL - but can say even if the thermostat o0ened and the coolant was at temperature, the transmission oil could of been still below temperature. I did figure I needed to try and get a log and speak to my tuner. However I now have more info to speak to him about it.
