I have a 95 SHO. I cant find a stereo adapter for my car at walmart or crutchfield.com. They say they don't exist. Anyone know a place that sells them or if i even need one. I'd like to take out my stock cd player and radio and replace it with an aftermarket radio/cd player in one and put in a coin tray/cup holder below it. Any help would be great thanks!

I bought mine at wal mart. I think it was 10 bux. It just the adapter for a regular taurus/ranger/f150 and so on, of the same era.

erm, you talking about a dash kit or a wiring harness? if you're looking for a dash kit, don't worry about it. just use the cage that just came with the aftermarket deck and stick it in there. As for the wiring harness, i've always had a problem finding a wiring harness for the SHO, so I said the **** with it and just hard wired the CD player into the car. thank God for wiring diagrams.

I have a distributor that sells them. I just purchased one last week for my '94. With amp bypass it was like $20 shipped.

Well, i was talking the dash kit. the walmart i went to didnt have one for generation 2. It stopped at an 88 or 89 taurus. It didn't appear to have a slot (if they were out). But walmart does have the dash kits? They may have well been out. Thanks for the harness in advance though

Hmmm, I know I got one from Crutchfield when I bought a stereo from them. I specified that it was for a JBL system and it came with an adapter for the deck and an amp bypass adapter.

Nope...I believe the factory sub only works when using the factory amps. The reason: the sub has its own amp.

IMO, the 4 speakers sound much better and have more bass than the factory system with the factory sub.

90 fo show might have answered this more me but do i want to bypass the factory amps? I may replace the factory jbls with new sony xplods but i'm not sure yet. my question is "do i want to bypass the factory speakers and get the harness that comes from crutchfield or should i buy my own harness to use the amps power? what should i do to get the most out of my headunit and speakers?"

the sub will still work, the amp bypass cable only effects the 4 channel amp i believe.
