While driving my car I notice that the thing shakes quite noticeably at part throttle, in any gear, and at wot if at low rpms and a higher gear (like if i'm in 3rd goin 20mph and punch it). If i rev the engine in neutral or with the clutch in, there is no shaking whatsoever. if i just push the clutch in or coast in neutral there is no shaking. if I coast in any gear, there is no shaking. wtf is goin on? I never noticed this til I replaced the passenger side axle.
also, it shakes a whole helluvalot if I'm turning at speed, like a sweeping freeway onramp or winding road. the only loose part i've seen while under the car replacing the axle and rack is the passenger sway bar end link. everything else looked fine

Where did you get the passenger side axle from??? I have gotten 2 bad axles from NAPA. THey did all kinds of crazy vibrations that took me a while to find. It is hard to imagine the part you just replaced was worse than the one you took out but it happens. The ONLY place to get a good axle that I have found is www.raxles.com They totally rebuild the axle, no half rebuilt shit like Napa sells.

You could also have a wheel bearing going out, or you do not have the axle nut tight enough. I would first check that the axle nut is torqued properly. I would then jack the car up and check the wheel bearings for play. Doing a search on the subject will tell you exactly how to do it.

If it is neither of them I would definately swap the axle for a "known" good one.

I notice it about low-mid rpm, not so much high.

and I seriously doubt it's the plugs/wires, I just replaced them with Ford plugs and Taylor wires.

it almost feels like a wheel is unbalanced, but if that were so then it would shake regardless of how much throttle i put into it.

maybe the motor mounts are bad?

i dont think a broken moter mount would do that ....usally you can feel a broken moter mount thought the shifter when you hit the gas ....and a big thump when you let go of the gas and it looks like that your car droped when you let go of the gas...lol i dont know if that makes senice but im tryin to help you

If you do not have a shiny spot on your intake your motor mounts are fine. Plugs/wires will NOT cause vibration.

It could be a wheel out of balance, or it could be what I said in my previous post. Wheel bearings typically don't last much longer than 120k. Axles I have had last anywhere from 100k to 160k plus.

Check the axle nut torque. Check the wheel bearing play. Get the wheels balanced. If you still have a problem, than that axle you just replaced is more than likely junk.

yeah i got the axle from napa. when i first got done with the job i didnt have the axle nut torqued down enough, took it down the street and noticed it was fuxored so took it straight back to the shop and tightened it up a bunch with the impact wrench

great, more shit to fix. i cant afford to keep this damned thing....

If Napa gave you a bunk axle then just go and take it back. Either get one from the link that guy posted (raxles.com) or tell napa that if they give you another bad part youll never go there again. Napa has better quality stuff then autozone for most of their stuff. But I've never bought any axles from them.. Either way, napa is cool about that kind of stuff and will most likely take it back even if it has no lifetime warranty
