ok so i picked up a 91 SHO MTX last week as a daily driver for 300 bucks. it's not in the best of shape but it gets me to work every day. it leaks and burns oil, the body is in sad shape and the seats look like they were part of a drug bust haha. anyways the car has about 98k on it and seems to have a severe misfire to the point that i can't even take off at a stop sign without bucking and popping. i put a brand new mass airflow sensor on it, that didn't help, the plug wires are in decent shape, the plugs look good, they're the ones with 2 electrodes on them (don't remember the brand) but anyways... the car has a check engine and abs light on but when i plug the code reader into it, i get nothing. I dont know too much about the SHO's but i've been working on mustangs and other cars since before i could drive... I'm really lost on this one guys any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
joe

ditch the plugs and replace with motorcraft. Is there oil in any of the plug wells? Are the wires routed correctly?

A good check to make is the grounds inside the engine bay, from the main ground and the small grounds around the engine as well as the grounds on the frame they can cause bad power to PCM and the DIS as well which would not let you pull codes and give you lights. It also will make the engine run like crap.

DIS is the ignition control module, it is mounted on the intake crossover tube on the passenger side, and conveniently says "Motorcraft DIS" on it to help you identify it.
