Hey,

My car randomly dies while im driving it. I have replace the DIS, Inginition Coil, and fuel pump all of which makes the car run a little better but has not resolved the issue. It usually dies when i am slowing down or at a stop. Im lost on what to do next.

Help Please

Run the codes.

But if it cuts really abrupt like you turn off the key , its most likely the crank sensor.

Maybe the IAC, when he is driving it is ok but then when he is stopping then it shuts off? Have you tried unplugging the IAC when you have it idling?

i just ran the codes today and we also found out that the cooling fans were not running so it was getting really hot so we ran a switch to the fans and seeing if that helps by making sure they come on. Um the codes that we got was that the ECT was under voltage and that the O2 sensors were running lean. um also we did test the IAC and when we unpluged it shut right off but when we pluged it in the started right up fine.

Its a auto.

So it needs a new ect and o2 sensors. Then, if the cooling fans still don't come on, the ccrm, but they likely don't come on because the pcm doesn't think the coolant temp is high enough to need them.

Since its an auto, you may also have a problem w/ the torque converter not wanting to disengage properly all the time as you come to a stop, which would lead to random stalling as you approach a stop.

The ccrm is the big relay box that sits on top of the radiator fan and controls the fans and fuel pump, etc. The pcm is the main computer in the firewall in front of the glove box.

so if those were the problem shouldn't the car start right back up after it dies because i have to wait for it to cool down before it will start back up and it is running at normal temp.

What you described in post #11 is exactly the typical symptom for a sick crank sensor. I would change that next.
