Well this is going to sound stupid but i decide to go ahead and replace the old starter and :brom, BromM :slap: :3gears: :smash:

The weird part was that i had already have them test the old one and i was working just fine? apparently the starter had enough juice to work by itself but not enough to make the car work??

well now is working and things are back to normal:cry:

a lot of gas per mile, black smoke stains on my rear bump, and crazy idle...:dribble: :dribble:
probably from cycling the fuel pump 1000 times trying to figure it out. Good work !

Where did you have the starter tested?

Congrats on getting it running. :thumb:

Autozone!:nut:

I had a feeling you would say that. My starter was on the way out...and I had autozone test it. They said it was good...so I was replacing ground cables, checking connections, etc. Nothing worked...still no start.

I then took the starter to advanced and tested it...they said the starter is fried. Replaced the starter and I havnt had a problem since.

AZ starter tester doesnt work properly...it will say good, when its really bad.

I have a question close to the same issue. And i cant find out why it wont work.
The Car is doing most of what just was explained. I changed my waterpump. So.. also almost everything else in there. Timing belts, etc. i got Everything installed. But all the car does is click. Continuously, when i try to start it. I dont hear any sparks. I changed the plugs, and wires. Still nothing. it was working (kinda) before the waterpump died.

Any suggestions?

Thanks guys.

Ok tried starting it for 30 secs, and held the gas down. Nothing, The tach bounced around a lil, but didnt ever go into the markers. The car has spittered or anything. Only thing that happens is the starter keeps turning the engine.
What could it be?

Since you have just replaced a lot of items, I would check connections (DIS connectors, etc) to make sure everything is plugged in.

Also, you can pull a plug and, with it installed in the spark plug wire, trying cranking the car while someone watches the plug to look for spark. If it is sparking, then your CPS, DIS, among other things are hooked up. The CID could be going out though and still get spark. This test would verify that other things are working properly.

Ok, so. I went ghetto.
Pulled the spark plug out and tried to start the car.
No spark. What that module called that the spark plug wires are connected to?
Electronic Ignition Module right?

Would that do it? or do i have to dig further.

:::EDIT:::
Ok, I realized i wasnt paying attention when that question was suggested... or worse; answered.
Do you really think it would be the DIS? Would that die so easily?

Im searching now, but how would i test them both?

Hey, Oh man. I am up for a spin.

I Just bought a new Coil Pack, installed it. and all. Stil no spark.

Could it seriously be the DIS?
Any other way, or other tests to see whats going on?
I cant get the car to a code reader.

Probably the crank sensor. And I don't believe you will get any codes.

With a voltmeter on AC and when cranking the engine you should see ~ 4VAC between pin 4 and pin 7 on the ICM module.

Dis 1 93

Dis voltage values v6 sho

When i goto crank the engine, the tach jumps a lil. It doesnt go far.. but it atleast reaches 0.
Im going to have to test it tomorrow, when i can see and such better.
I Dont have any other multimeter, I only have a fluke.

I also dont smell any fuel in the engine when i take a plug out and try to start it.

I think i'd rather it be the DIS than the CPS.

My father today said he went into the car looking for a missing ground or anything that could cause the problem.

I got a msg with an offer for a msd ignition. I am tring to sway my parents to help me with the price, cause i just bought the coil pack. Still tring to get AUtozone to return it, since it didnt work. figure that out tomorrow.

Giving the price of the DIS, and i dont have anyplace near me that has a used one. I guess i will install the MSD ignition system.

Anything to be noted about that? like installation? I searched the forums. i really only found results stating not to use them unless with a turbo or super charger. I will be getting turbo, but giving the problem at hand and prices. (i know the price of a DIS and Coilpack is supposed to be cheaper) but if the MSD was at a good value. And since i am having such problems with my ignition system. I can just install the msd? or should i really find out the problem at hand first?

Im also stuck for time. My Complex is going to tow my car this week, I am going to fight them about that. So that i might get another week out of it. So, any help in that time would be GREAT. Thanks alot guys.
