I am experincing some sluggishness during acceleration in my '93 ATX. I found that pressing the accelerator down 50% or more at about 2500 rpm's I get a jerky action during acceleration...what kind of things can you suggest I look into?

I can think of cleaning the fuel system, esp. the injectors. Can I physically inspect the injectors?

Thanks for the help.

Jerky like a spark misfire? Check the plug wells for oil. If not, I'd ask how old are the plugs and wires and what brand are they.

Well, the plugs are a few years old, as well as the wires...the plugs are whatever were recommended on this board (Motorcraft?)...I suppose running some fuel injection cleaner wouldn't hurt, either. I'll check the plugs...

What's the crossover tube? Do you mean the exhaust?

Also check for oil in the plug wells.

The "crossover tube" it the removeable portion of the intake that the DIS module is mounted to.

You can also clean the MAF sensor.

Remove the TPS and take it to AutoZone for testing.

A few things to consider.
