When I put in an burnt data song disc, it doesn't give me the option to record. Is this the norm? If I record a disc in regular form, I can record it into the nav unit, when it is data, the record option isn't there.

Yes, it's the norm. You can thank the RIAA. It's well published that you can only record pure-audio CDs to the Jukebox, which frankly 98% neuters the function.

I wonder if that dvd unlock wiring harness thing would unlock it and allow us to record? Anybody know?

I assume you're talking about the Coastal E-tech SYNC Lockpick?

Nope. I have one, and it doesn't unlock that. The "feature" you refer to is a core OS functionality, no wiring harness adapter is gonna fix that.

One of the very few things I miss from the nav system on my old caliber srt-4. You could record songs from a usb drive as well, but not this car.
