I went out to try to pull codes again but battery was dead no lights or anything. I hooked up charger and went to read codes. When I turned key on with jumper in fan and fuel pump stayed running and CEL on solid so I pulled jumper out and turned key on again fan and pump came on again and stayed on I tried to crank it and it started up but was running rough. So I hooked up fuel pressure gauge and it showed 40psi. Revved up real sluggish. Shut it off and fan came on and FP did not. Tried to pull codes again and no luck CEL light was on solid when running. Went out to try checking connection and ground on CCRM fan and pump run solid when key is on before and after cleaning. CEL light is on solid now but still can get codes. Help please I don't want to troubleshoot by swapping parts!

Thanks!

fan and fuel pump running continuously is a typical symptom of pcm not connected properly or no ground to the pcm. you could have a bad connection to the pcm or you could have a bad pcm.

Is that the computer box by the CCRM? I will check connectors and grounds when I get home today. BTW it will not start now just spins over this morning. Would that keep me from being able to get codes?

Thanks!!!

pcm is the 60-pin connector on the firewall, basically in front of the glove box.

if the pcm is not connected properly, or is not grounded properly, or has failed, the engine will not run.

I checked connections with no change so I plugged in a old PCM from a 3.8 Taurus and fan did not come on and pump kicked up normally it started but ran rough so I cut it off then I unplugged it and plugged up PCM back on car and same as before so I am guessing it is the PCM bad. I have a Y2J and have seen other "numbered PCM" listed for 90-95 SHO MTX what other numbers will work on my car or is X2J the only one?

Thanks!
