Can't put my new tires on???

Well I just went down to walmart to put get my new tires put one. The guy there is kinda new and he said that he couldn't put my tires on because my rims (stock slicers) had been curbed and beat up around the edges (not me, previous owner). He said he thought it woudl slice the bead on the tires but he wasn't sure. He wants me to come back later this afternoon when his boss is there because his boss will know for sure. Is this really a problem or does this guy know what he is talking about? I sure hope I can get these tires mounted on these rims cause I can't really afford new rims right now.

Thanks for the reply. Thats kinda what I thought. I just found out that the auto shop at the college where I work is open this summer so I went and talked to a friend of mine there. He said no problem, he might need to file a couple rough spots down but he could do it. So, no more worries, walmart sucks though!

Yea, I normally never take my car to Walmart, but they were cheap and I figured they couldn't screw up tires to bad right??? WRONG!

I work at Discount tire and have a few things to say.

1) as already stated, Never get your car worked on at a place that sells groceries.
2) Especially when it's walmart...
3) That guy has no clue what he is talking about.

I have nothing against Walmart. In fact, I shop there regularly and buy oil, antifreeze and other stuff from them all the time. But I would not let them touch my car with a 10 foot pole.
