Ok, so I've been attempting to pull the codes on my 95 ATX...

I've tried both the CEL and Voltmeter method, and I get nothing. The CEL comes on for a split second when the key is turned on, and then nothing. With the voltmeter, I get a single sweep and then nothing.

I'm having random CEL lights while driving and getting poor gas mileage, trying to figure out what's going on...

Any Suggestions?

MY CEL isn't working at all right now so instead of using the paper clip method I just went and bought the cheap scan tool from Autozone. Its only like 20 bucks but all it has is a flashing LED.

The cel works, it comes on and off when i'm driving, and it DOES illuminate for a second when i try to pull the codes, so It's not the bulb... Any other ideas?

...are you putting the wires in the right spots? Does your fuel pump, fans and various relays that're loud cycle? If not, recheck where you're pluggin in the voltmeter or wire in the wrong holes.

It happens to me all the time..i forget where to plug the wires in at...

Yep, I know i'm putting it in the right spot, I get absolutely nothing though. No fans , no fuel pump, no relays clicking.
