Im trying to put new pads and rotors on in the back and i cant get the piston to go back in. Im just using a c clamp and the old brake pad. Does it have to be screwed back in? or was that a dumb question? Should i take off the parking brake spring?

You need to screw the pistons back in while applying pressure. You can rent a tool from Autozone. Also you can search since this question is asked very frequently.

Yup, you gotta turn the piston as you're compressing it. A good disc brake toolset works well on this. However, your caliper may be toast as well, is it the rear?
