Can i cut the front springs? how much do i take off?

Ive got a 93 mtx and im about to get a 90 model.... Both have stock springs with kyb gr2 performanc struts..... The rear height is perfect....... But i want the front to drop about 1 1/2 inches or so... give or take a little... want it pretty dropped though. Is it possible to cut a coil off the spring? If so how much do i take off and can i do it myself? Im looking for a quick way to lower them without spending a ton of money( on a budget ) And also if its able to be done can i do it with the assembly still on the car? just get a compressor to take tension off and all. Plenty of suggestions much appreciated here!! I dont want to buy springs cuz they only come in sets of 4 and all i need is 2 pairs for the front...... and even still i want it dropped to match the rear. Thanks

Trust me when I say this....don't do it! I just did mine last week and it rides like ****. I won't stop bouncing and it through my alignment out soo bad it's not funny. I had to go buy a new set of MOOG Cargo Coils today. Everybody said they are the way to go and front springs for the pair were under $60 with tax. I cut 1 coil off the stock ones so just to let you know.

Thanks, that was what i was wanting to know. I guess ill just have to buy a whole set for both cars. I guess i shoudlnt be trying to cut corners but ive heard people who have done this before. If it makes the car not tolerable then i wont do it. If anyone else has advice on this chime in. Thanks
