I have a 95 MTX with 167,000 miles that i bought and tried to fix but i failed. The car runs and drives (barely) it almost stalls and the oil light comes on. At this point i have way more money invested, than the car is worth. However I love this car and would like to get it running again. Whether that means taking it to someone more qualified to work on it (my local ford dealer couldn't tell me what was wrong with it either) or getting a new/rebuilt motor.

does anyone know of any good sho shops in the Trenton/Philadelphia area?
does anyone rebuild or sell rebuilt sho motors?
what do you do with an sho that's in great shape and has tons of new parts but just doesn't run well?

As Mike said, a little more detailed description might help us better advise you.

In the mean time, try reading the trouble codes stored in your engine computer. There are links with instructions in my signature, and you can do it yourself very easily with something as simple as a paper clip or short piece of wire.

In addition to a clearer description, let us know the codes you find and we'll see what we can figure out what's going on! :)

Thanks for responding guys. I didn't bother with the details because I'm fairly certain the motor is dying. I don't have the exact codes in front of me but they were the MAS sensor below voltage, Secondary fuel pump circuit failure, and an O2 sensor lean. I believe the codes were 542, 172 and I cant remember the other one. The car does run and does drive as i said but there is no throttle response, it runs like it has a miss, and has no power at all (with the petal floored it takes like 30 seconds to reach 6000 rpm and thats if the car doesn't bogg out and die). All the sensors are new; o2, cam sensor, CPS, plugs wires, coil, injectors, secondary fuel pump relay box,MAF etc. During a Cylinder Balance test the #2 cylinder came up lame. I read on shotimes that can be a result of a bad or clogged converter which in short results in scored cylinder walls.
I'm not certain but I believe this to be the case only because i've replaced just about damn near everything else. But, i haven't checked the compression yet. Because I don't have the tool.
If anyone thinks it could be something else I'm all ears. But I was just thinking about getting a new motor put in. If I can't find anyone local I'm gonna ship the car to the boys a Ford Performance Specialists in GA. Any suggestions?

If you suspect bad cat why not try to remove the pipe and check it out? You should be able to get the compression checked locally. If you need to send it out, the guys at Protech in Maryland might be a closer option.
