CAM Chain Tensioner Tension

I just got a new CAM Chain Tensioner, and it doesn't seem very tense. I can compress it all the way down with two fingers without any effort. It feelts lightly spring loaded. Am I missing soemthing? Does something connect into it? How should it be?

Nope, that's about right, oil pressure will stiffen it right up.

okay, i'm glad to hear that. Am i correct to assume there's some sort of connection to those two litle holes on the side of it?
